Telstra BigPond Backs Off Download Cap, For Now 2

Bandit writes: "CyberForces Gaming Nation over in Australia posted what can only be described as a retraction by Telstra BigPond in regards to their prior announcement to "cap" the previously unlimited broadband accounts to a mere 3gig per month."

"Snip: 'Since June, Telstra has been reviewing Freedom Plan members' feedback in relation to their monthly 3GB allowance and this review is not yet complete. Whilst this review is in progress, Telstra BigPond has decided not to introduce the intended 3GB "Capping" and "Additional Usage'" options planned for 1 October 2001. It seems that instead Telstra has opted out for a further modifications to their now infamous AUP or the acceptable usage policy.'"
