Pamela Samuelson 1

USA Today ran this nice piece about Pamela Samuelson, one of the less-sung (not unsung, obviously) heroes of the copyright wars. She's contributed to the DVD cases and in plenty of other areas. Her homepage has many papers about intellectual property and copyright available, good reading if you're into that sort of thing.

''Most of our students are going to go off and be business lawyers. This program will allow them to become activists, to realize they can make a difference in the world.'

    You know, she has a point there. And taking it further - not only lawyers should care about the high tech and society, but geeks should also. =)

All seems condemned in the long run to approximate a state akin to Gaussian noise. -- James Martin
