daria42 writes: The loose-knit collective of individuals known as "Anonymous" has broken its silence about the distributed denial of service attacks on the Australian Government. The group today said the attacks were more effective at stopping the government's internet filtering project than signing a petition, and that the attacks could go on for "months".

  • Although legitimate criticism has thus far been of no use in the face of Conroy's intransigence, this group is living in cloud cuckoo-land if they think attacking government networks will be effective. The only thing that will happen is that they will give the government another argument to "spin" to make it appear that there are criminals, terrorists or paedophiles hiding behind every bush, and the only way to combat them is with more draconian legislation.
