ProfBooty writes "Millions of British airline passengers face mandatory fingerprinting before being allowed to board domestic flights when Heathrow's Terminal 5 opens later this month. All passengers at the new Heathrow Terminal Five, opening on March 27th will be required to provide 4 fingerprints and have their picture taken when checking in in order to ensure that the person checking in is the same as the person boarding the plane. The BAA insists that the records will not be passed on to the police and destroyed within 24 hours. They feel these measures are needed in order to prevent criminals, terrorists and illegal immigrants trying to bypass border controls as Terminal Five is used for both domestic and international travel.
