eldavojohn writes "Doctors without Borders is reporting that the patents for Tenofovir, a key AIDS/HIV drug has been revoked. This is good news for India & Brazil who need this drug to be cheap but bad news for Gilead Sciences. We discussed this drug before. In semi-related news, a patent reform bill is in its final stages which proposes to reduce patent trolling settlements among anything from pesticides to software. If it passes, instead of paying up to triple what you would have if you licensed it, you would be forced to pay the normal royalties if found guilty. I guess that would make it tempting to not pay them to start with and wait for the patent holder to attempt to sue you." Link to Original Source
