jfruh (300774) writes "AMD may have ceded the desktop to Intel for the most part, but it still rules gaming: its SoCs are inside the upcoming next-gen consoles from Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft. And, in a move to win the eternal love of game developers, the company is developing a new software layer that will make it easier to port code from one AMD-powered console to another, which might encourage the industry to still with the chipmaker going forward."
