judgecorp writes "British Airways' Ungrounded project proposes to shut 100 Silicon Valley "gamechangers" in a trans-Atlantic plane and ask them to solve the world's tech skills crisis during the 12-hour flight to London. On arrival, the passengers will head into a conference where they will present their ideas to, among others, the UN. The project might be a great idea — or it might be a boost for old fashioned air travel against videoconferencing, and it looks to be solving a very taking a "first world" problem (how to extract talent from the developing world)."

  • Fire HR and quit expecting to get anything but monkeys when you pay peanuts and the skills problem will go away on it's own. There are plenty of skilled people who are lacking only 50 years experience with Windows 8 and a willingness to work 80 hour weeks for minimum wage.
