Robot taxis have been a science-fiction staple, but one of the biggest obstacles has been that computers aren't very good at certain tasks — usually dealing with the chaotic terrain of a city street. A group at Autonomos Labs at the Free University of Berlin, led by artificial intelligence professor Raul Rojas, has managed to change that, building a car that can respond to a summons from an iPad."
