+ - Congress to Facebook: let's be friends->

Submitted by crimeandpunishment
crimeandpunishment (1754306) writes "A powerful member of Congress is asking Facebook and Google to cooperate with any government inquiry into their privacy policies. Democrat John Conyers of Michigan, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, sent letters to both companies Friday. Both Facebook and Google have come under increased fire over the way they protect users' personal privacy. Several watchdog groups have filed a complaint against Facebook with the Federal Trade Commission...and some members of Congress have asked the FTC to look into the issue with Google's "Street View" mapping. Conyers didn't indicate if the judiciary committee would conduct its own investigation."
